5 Most Anticipated Mobile Games For 2017
Let’s face it – mobile gaming has always been hit or miss. Luckily for us, it’s been hitting a lot more in the past few years than it used to. One of the main reasons for that is because the mobile games market is more competitive than ever. For instance, did you know that more than 60% of new smartphone owners install more than one game within a week of getting their devices?
According to Survey Monkey’s Mobile Trends, smartphone owners install games more than any other type of app in the first seven days of ownership. When you look at just how many brilliant games 2016 gave us, the statistic isn’t surprising at all.
Most Anticipated Mobile Games
And now, let’s look at some of the most anticipated games that online publications will surely be writing about in the next 12 months. You should expect all of these games on both Android and iOS, unless noted of course. And don’t blame us if any of them slip into the next year, get canceled or you need to use a VPN to play some of them, because those things aren’t up to us.
1. Framed 2
The original Framed was a smart game – an exciting noir adventure game that forced the player to reorder comic panels in order to get away from the police. While the new one will have the same premise, it comes to us with new puzzle mechanic and brand new characters.
2. Animal Crossing
Nintendo has recently promised us a number of mobile apps we already have Super Mario Run and Miitomo, but you should expect both Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem in the next few months. But seeing how we had to pick just one game – we’re looking forward to tending the tiny village on the go.
3. Sheltered
So how can a person describe Sheltered? Just think about it like this – it’s basically like Fallout Shelter, just with a lot of more cannibalism. This post-apocalyptic title has a lot of going on – including tussles with other survivors, a crafting system and the ability to recruit outside characters into your family.
4. Static Sky
If you love a classic cyberpunk setting and good-old shooter, you’ll definitely love Static Sky. This real-time shooter forces you to deploy a team of top secret agents and test both your hacking and combat abilities to progress through the levels. We have to note that this title is an iPad exclusive.
5. Star Wars: Force Arena
Let’s throw some words and phrases out there for you. Star Wars… MOBA… PvP… Real-time… Combine them all in any order you want, and you get the Force Arena. While another Star Wars title doesn’t sound exciting as it used to, combining beloved characters from the classic saga promises to be a ball.
Final Thoughts
As you can clearly see, when it comes to the mobile gaming department, 2017 has a decent amount hype going for it. Whether you’re looking for indie games or something based upon pre-existing franchises – there’s something out there to suit everyone. And as years go by, and more developers realize how to design new games, or translate beloved classics to one of gaming’s most promising mediums, these lists are only going get bigger.

I’m still going to blame HTR if any of these games aren’t available in 2017…
Force Arena and Static Sky! Now I only need to make some time for gaming 🙁
At least with mobile gaming you don’t need to have hours at a time to play a little.
Both Star Wars and Animal Crossing actually have me hyped. Thanks for the submission!
