Stardew Valley Multiplayer Beta is Now Live on Steam
Fans of Stardew Valley got a major surprise today with the game’s multiplayer being released in beta form to PC users. News of the release came over on the Stardew Valley dev blog along with instructions on how to access the Stardew Valley multiplayer beta. Let’s take a look the Stardew Valley multiplayer beta post below.
Stardew Valley Multiplayer Beta
News of the multiplayer beta was delivered by developer tccoxon on the Stardew Valley website. In the post, tccoxon touched on a number of points regarding accessing the beta, what to expect, and where to post inevitable bugs players discover.
To access the Stardew Valley beta, players will need to be on PC and have the game on Steam. GOG players will gain access to the beta in the next “few days”. To access the beta on Steam simply right click Stardew Valley in your library and select Properties. Access the Betas tab and input the beta access code “jumpingjunimos”. Once this is complete, you will be able to access the beta in the drop down box above the code input.
Before you dive into the multiplayer, it is highly suggested that you backup your save file. This is due to a number of reasons including the fact that files saved in v1.3 can’t be played in v1.2 as well as the fact that this is a BETA so expect the game to be a bit buggy.
It is not clear how much new content is hidden inside this new update, but we do know there are new events and items to find. While playing I noticed you can now buy Pam a house, which is a nice little addition in v1.3. Besides this event, I haven’t found anything else, but I’m sure there’s way more to find (as always).
