James Bond 25 To Begin Filming in December, Director Named

Fans of the James Bond series got a bit of good news this week as the date of filming for James Bond 25 has been set alongside a reveal of who will be directing the new film.

The announcement was made on the official James Bond Twitter account and it reads:

As the tweet reveals, Daniel Craig will be returning as James Bond (his 5th time) and he will be directed by Danny Boyle. The writer of the newest Bond is John Hodge who is known for adapting Trainspotting/T2. Alongside Craig and Boyle, series helmer Barbara Broccoli will return to oversee production of the film.

Filming of the James Bond 25 will begin on December 3, 2018. Filming will take place at the Pinewood Studios, but like all previous Bond films, expect to see some exotic locals thrown into the mix.

James Bond 25 marks the dawn of a new age for the Bond series as international rights to the film were open for new candidates in 2015 after the previous deal with Sony expired. Many of the major studios were interested in getting a piece of the billion dollar franchise, but ultimately Universal was the one which secured the international rights.

Bond 25 will first release in the U.K. on October 25, 2019, and then in the U.S. on November 8, 2019.
