Everything Announced at Microsoft Xbox E3 2018 Conference

Another June, another E3 conference to cover. First to present of the big three is Microsoft, who are looking to make a splash with their Xbox One exclusives. Below is a complete list of everything announced at the Microsoft Xbox E3 2018 conference.

Xbox One E3 2018 Conference Game Announcements

• Right out the gate we got a trailer for Halo Infinite. 
  • Master Chief will be the main character.
  • Short teaser showed a lush tropical world with various animals.
  • Release Date: N/A.
• 50 Games/18 Exclusives/15 World Premiers to be shown.
• Trailer for Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
  • Release Date: 2019.
• World premiere of new From Software game Sekiro Shadows Die Twice (AKA Samurai Souls).
• Todd Howard: Fallout 4 on Gamepass launching today.
  • World Premiere of Fallout 76 trailer – Four times bigger than Fallout 4.
  • Release Date: N/A.
• World Premiere of Captain Spirit trailer from DONTNOD (Vampyr, Life is Strange). Free on June 26th.
• Trailer for Crackdown 3 (Xbox Exclusive).
  • Release Date: February 2019.
• Nier Automata Xbox One X enhanced edition.
• Metro Exodus trailer. Releases on February 22, 2019.
• Phil Spencer: Introduced Kingdom Hearts for first time on Xbox.
  • Showed the Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer. 
  • Release Date: January 29, 2019.
• Sea of Thieves expansions teased.
  • Cursed Sails in July 2018.
  • Forsaken Shores in September 2018.
• Battlefield V trailer.
• World Premiere of Forza Horizon 4. 
  • Ralph Fulton (Playground Games): Showed off Forza Horizon 4 gameplay.
    • Features dynamic seasons which change the game world (showed off winter & spring).
    • Shared world in multiplayer. Has a sort of Need for Speed vibe to the game world.
    • World events to complete by working together for prizes.
    • Will be included in Xbox Game Pass on release day.
    • Release Date: October 2, 2018.
• We Happy Few trailer.
• PUBG trailer for new map & game modes.
• World Premiere of Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition.
• World Premiere of The Division 2. Showed some in game footage.
  • Release Date: March 15, 2019.
• Shadow of the Tomb Raider trailer.
• Exclusive title Session trailer shown (skateboarding title).
• Black Desert Online trailer.
• World Premiere of Devil May Cry 5.
  • Hideaki Itsuno + Matt Walker: Devil May Cry is back babay!
  • Release Date: Spring 2019.
• Cuphead DLC trailer.
  • Cuphead in The Delicious Last Course.
  • New playable character called Ms. Chalice.
  • Release Date: 2019
• Exclusive title Tunic (Fox Zelda) trailer.
• World Premiere of title Jump Force (Anime Smash). 
• Dying Light 2 trailer.
  • Chris Avellone: Talked about Dying Light 2.
    • Modern Dark Ages.
    • Technical and narrative advancements. Everything in the game world can change based on your decisions.
    • Each player’s game experience will be unique.
• Exclusive title Battletoads trailer shown.
• Just Cause 4 trailer.
• Gears Pop trailer for mobile (characters are Funko Pops).
• Revealed alpha look at Gears Tactics (similar to Xcom).
• Gears of War 5 is in the works. Showed off a trailer.
• Show ended with the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077.

Microsoft Business/Acquisitions

• Phil Spencer: Exclusives from Xbox Studios are a major focus of Microsoft.
  • Increasing investment into established franchises.
  • Increasing investment into new franchises.
  • New studio formed called The Initiative. San Diego based studio.
  • Undead Labs is now a Microsoft Studio.
  • Playground Games (Forza) has been acquired by Microsoft.
  • Ninja Theory (Hellblade) has been acquired by Microsoft.
  • Compulsion Games (We Happy Few) acquired by Microsoft.
  • Microsoft is working on streaming games to PC, Xbox, and Phones.
  • The next Xbox consoles are being developed as we speak.

Xbox Game Pass Announcements

The Wind Road is one title shown during the Game Pass montage.

• Ashley: Talking about the fact gaming is expensive. What if you could play all the games?
  • Xbox Game Pass: Over 100 games for one low price.
  • Machine learning allows for FastStart which is twice as fast as current title starting. Will launch in June update this month.
  • Halo the Master Chief Collection coming later this year.
  • Forza Horizon 4 & Crackdown 3 will launch on Game Pass when they release.
  • The Division, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Fallout 4 playable today on Xbox Game Pass.

Overall a fairly solid outing from Microsoft. As Phil Spencer pointed out, this E3 was the largest and most diverse of E3 presentations that they’ve been a part of. Ending the show with the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077  was a really nice touch. Easily for me, the titles I got most hyped about were the reveals of Sekiro, Cyberpunk 2077, and Cuphead DLC.
