Vampire Guide: How to Find the Vampire in Red Dead Redemption 2

On the surface Red Dead Redemption 2 may seem like typical cowboy fare,  but there are actually a ton of hidden mysteries which make the world far more interesting than it first appears. One of these mysteries can be located in the heart of the biggest city in the game, Saint Denis and it involves a vampire. So what is the mystery of the vampire and how can you uncover it for yourself? Use our vampire guide below to learn how to find the vampire for yourself. Let’s get started (oh and you may want to pack a couple wooden stakes). SPOILERS BELOW.

Mysterious Writing 1: On the Southside of the General Store

The first clue we will grab is located on the south exterior wall of the General Store in Saint Denis. This clue is written in white ink on the wall and states the following:

FIVE BONES UNDER THE PERFECT STAR. NOSFERATU WITH DOMINICA WILL BECOME MORTAL AGAIN.

Once you’ve inspected this clue, move onto the next one.

Mysterious Writing 2: Alleyway to the East of the Show

The next Mysterious Writing can be found in an alleyway to the east of the Show icon on your map. To find the Mysterious Writing, make your way to the alley and look for a pile of barrels, crates and a chair. Above the chair is the next Mysterious Writing which says:

OH SWEETEST OF NAPES, MAY YOUR BLOOD REMAIN FOREVER ON MY LIPS. SIX THERE WILL BE BEFORE THE LUST IS SATED.

Inspect the Mysterious Writing to add it to your journal and then move onto the next clue.

Mysterious Writing 3: Alleyway Behind the Gunsmith

To find this next Mysterious Writing, make your way to the alleyway behind the Gunsmith. In this alleyway there is a small alcove with a number of doors inside it. Around the corner from the doors is the next Mysterious Writing. Here is what this writing has to say:

WITH ONE LONG KISS I DRAW THE LIFE FROM HER AND AWAIT THE OUTPOST OF ADVANCING DAY.

With this Mysterious Writing inspected, head onto the next location!

Mysterious Writing 4: Storage Area South of Trapper

In order to get the next Mysterious Note, make your way to the storage area just south of the Trapper. Inside this storage area there are a number of barrels and crates. Above a broken crate on the north wall you will find the next Mysterious Note. Here’s what it says:

I FEED AGAIN THE BLOOD OF LIFE THE CIRCLE HAS BEGUN

After you’ve collected the fourth Mysterious Writing, you will have one left to collect.

Mysterious Writing 5: On Building South of Saloon

To find the final Mysterious Writing, make your way to the Saloon to the northeast. From the Saloon, look to the south and walk over to the red brick building. Beside the large entrance doors to this building you will find the final Mysterious Writing. This writing says the following:

I DRINK FROM THE MAIDEN AND I LIVE AGAIN IN THE DEAD. THE HEART OF THE KING OF BLOOD.

When you interact with this final Mysterious Writing, a star will be drawn between the coordinates of all notes we’ve gathered. This is a clue we need to follow. To access this next portion of the event, you need to be in the nighttime (after midnight).

Go to Alleyway to Confront Vampire

Now that we’ve gathered all the clues and waited for the night to come, it is time to confront the vampire. To do this, make your way to the spot pictured above (it’s an alleyway to the west of the General Store). As you head there you should see a corpse appear on your map. When you round the corner you will see a vampire feeding on a poor citizen of Saint Denis. Speak with the Vampire for a bit and then prepare for a fight. I highly recommend shooting the vampire as soon as you get the chance to, since it can kill you in seconds. When you do kill the vampire it will drop the Ornate Dagger.
