Ori and the Will of the Wisps: How to Get More Shard Slots

In Ori and the Will of the Wisps there are items you can equip that help improve Ori. These items are called Soul Shards and they increase things like defense, offense, collecting, and more. When you start the game you can equip 3 of these Soul Shards. As you progress you can unlock Shard Slot Upgrades that all you to equip more Soul Shards. Below I will show you how to get more Shard Slots.

How to Equip More Soul Shards?

To unlock more Shard Slot upgrades you want to complete Shrine Challenges. These Shrines are typically mentioned to you as a rumor from NPCs. When you visit their locations you will be able to undertake their challenges. These are Combat Shrines so you simply need to defeat waves of enemies. Once all the waves are completed you will receive a reward which is a Shard Slot upgrade.

There are a total of 5 Combat Shrines to complete in Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Each Combat Shrine completion rewards you with 1 Shard Slot upgrade for a total of 5 new Shard Slots (bringing the total to 8). The locations of these Combat Shrines can be seen on the map above and are as follows:

  1. 2x Inkwater Marsh.
  2. Wellspring Glade.
  3. Mouldwood Depths.
  4. Silent Woods.

When you collect all 5 of the Shard Slots you will unlock the Fully Slotted and the Shrine Bright achievements. Having 5 extra slots is definitely worth the effort. With 8 slots you can have some really good builds going for your Ori.
