One of the best features in Animal Cross New Horizons is the ability to place various items to decorate things like tents, buildings, and more. How to Place items in Animal Crossing New Horizons
During the initial tutorial of Animal Crossing New Horizons you will place a tent and will have a small party with the other residents on the isalnd. After this party you will be given a cot from Tom Nook to place in your tent. The cot can be slept on to advance time. Take the cot and head to your tent.
Inside the tent pull up your inventory with X and highlight the item you wish to place (in this case the cot). Press A on the item you wish to place to receive a prompt to place the item. Once placed you can grab and move the item by pressing A + using the Right Thumbstick.
Over the course of your Animal Crossing New Horizons playthrough you will spend plenty of time placing and removing items as you decorate your island. Remember that items placed can be removed by waking up to them and pressing Y. Good luck getting your island just the way you like it.
