Paper Mario: The Origami King Whispering Woods Toad Locations
In the different locations of Paper Mario: The Origami King you will find a number of different collectibles. These collectibles include items and even Toads. The first major area you will visit in the game is called Whispering Woods. - There are 12 total Toads to find in the Whispering Woods.
Toad 1 Location: Stuck in a Shrub
The first Toad cannot be missed. It is found on the path you talk as you are leaving the forest. You will drop down to a lower path and will trigger a cutscene with the Toad. To free the Toad 1 from the bush simply hit it repeatedly with your Hammer (B) until it is straightened out.
Toad 2 Location: Inside Tent
From the first Toad head down the path to the right until you reach the tent area. Interact with the closed tent in the background to find Toad 2. Bash it with your Hammer to straighten it out.
Toad 3 Location: Bug on Swing
Head down the path from Toad 2 until you see a Goomba on a swing. Fight this Goomba then hit the swing with your Hammer. Doing this causes the bug to change locations. Hit the bug to reveal Toad 3.
Toad 4 Location: Stuck in a Stump
Make your way across the bridge and down the steps. After the steps look for a tree stump that has the Toad stuck in it. Jump onto the stump and pull Toad 4 out of it.
Toad 5 Location: Bug on Tree
From Toad 4 head to the foreground and make your way to the tree in the left corner next to the wood pile. Hit this tree with your hammer for a bug to drop. Hit this but with your hammer to rescue Toad 5.
Toad 6 Location: Under Stump in Table Area
Once you’ve rescued Toad 5 make your way back to the path and you should see a Goomba sitting on a stump in a picnic area. Fight this Goomba then pull Toad 6 out from under the stump.
Toad 7 Location: Plate in Table Area
Immediatley after free Toad 6 turn around and jump onto the stump by the plate. Hit the plate with your Hammer to free Toad 7.
Toad 8 Location: Stuck in Shrub
Leave the table area and head across the path. Make your way to the right and you will encounter Toad 8 stuck inside a shrub. Hammer the shrub to free the Toad.
Toad 9 Location: Ground Near Cabin
Go onto the deck of the cabin and take a left to reach a path to the floating coin you probably saw earlier. On the ground beneath this floating coin is Toad 9.
Toad 10 Location: Planter on Cabin Railing
On the cabin railing you will see a row of planters with one missing some flowers. Stand under this planter and jump to cause a plant to appear.
Toad 11 Location: Wood Pile Next to Cabin
Leave the cabin and go right along the path. You should see a wood pile next to the deck with something stuck inside it. Pull Toad 11 out.
Toad 12 Location: Inside the Cabin
Unfortunately you will need to wait a bit to get the final Toad for this area as the Toad is away. Continue to advance the story until you get access to the cabin.
