Complete the Ninja Attraction location and grab the Master Key from Luigi. Once you have this key you can head to the Big Sho’ Theater which is located at the end of the main path in the Shogun Studios location. When you enter for the first time you will trigger a cutscene with a number of enemies. After this cutscene equip the Goomba head and walk through the crowd into the theater lobby. Like the Overlook Tower this location is home to collectibles and a boss fight.

Floor 1: Duel of the Fates

Head through the lobby and enter the theater to start the first floor (showing). Make your way to the front row and sit in the three open seats. When prompted head on stage to get a gun. Complete the three duels by shooting when the FIRE prompt appears. After the third duel head to the left while on stage to reach a treasure chest containing Collectible Treasure No.53: Paper Macho Snifit Outlaw. Head to the opposite side of the stage and hit the fake cactus to rescue Toad 1. Return to your seat.

Floor 2: Koopa Gang

In the second show you need to fight a gang of Koopas that are harassing a Birdo. After this opening sequence head up onto the stage when prompted. To complete this sequence you need jump on the Koopas when they spin around across the stage so you stop them. You then need to hammer them. Do this enough to trigger the next portion of the show which is to repeat the process with two faster Koopas. If you are having trouble at this part wait for the shells to stop then run over and jump on them. Follow the jump with a hammer smash. After this return to your seat.

Floor 3: Shy Guy Ballet

The final show you need to complete before the boss fight is the third show. Head up on stage when prompted and dance with the Shy Guy in the middle of the stage. Once you drop the Shy Guy you will need to complete another sequence similar to floor 2 only this time you can only use your hammer to destroy them. Head back to your seat to head up a floor.

On the fourth floor performers have been applauded equip any weapons and accessories you need, save then head up to the stage. On the stage you will meet the boss of this location who is called Rubber Band. Rubber Band is upsets you’ve upstaged the show so it will battle you.

Big Sho’ Theater Boss: Rubber Band

Rubber Band is a bit of a tough boss fight as you can only really damage it by using the Magic Spots to use your 1,000-Fold Arms. If you attempt to use other weapons Rubber Band just heals off the bands you knock off making it futile. To deal damage with the 1,000-Fold Arms you want to get as close as possible. This is easier said than done as you need to take into account the rubber bands it places on the battlefield which change Mario’s path by pushing him to the direction the rubber band is pointing below. Some other tips for this fight include:

  • Equip Guard Plus and Heart Plus accessories available at the Accessories Shop.
  • Use Toad cheer when needed to get health and other bonuses
  • Block whenever possible.
  • Add time with + if you need to think.
  • Always try to attack with 1,000-Fold Arms.

Once you get the first form of Rubber Band down to a sliver of health it will reveal its true form. While in this form Rubber Band uses the Solo Snapback attack which can deal 50 damage, so be sure to block. To defeat wristband Mario must get close for one final 1,000-Fold Arm attack that grabs the top part of the band. Once grabbed you can smash it into the ground then shoot it to send it flying.

After the fight there is a brief monologue from Rubber Band and the Toads in the audience are freed (count as the 99 we are missing). Walk up the stairs to the Blue Streamer and use the 1,000-Fold Arms ability to grab and smash it to pieces. This clears the Blue Streamer and increases Max Confetti. Return to your seat to head back down to floor 1. As is suggested head back outside to Shogun Studios.
