Caves Guide for Amnesia: Rebirth
Upon leaving the desert where the plane crash is located you will arrive in a cave system. Here you will need to explore your way through the cave system to reach the next location. To help you explore this area use our Caves guide for Amnesia: Rebirth found below.
How to Get Through the Caves
Walk forward when you enter the caves to reach the campsite. Head through the campsite and read all of the notes you find along the way to get a bit of lore. Besides lore you will also find matches which are useful for providing light sources as you progress through The Caves.
Important: Matches and light sources play an important role in how you deal with the game’s fear mechanic. If you spend too much time in the dark your fear will rise and you will see things. To lessen the effect of fear you want to spend time in the light.
Pick up the matches you find throughout the camp to have them added to you inventory. Once you’ve explored the entire campsite area make your way to the cave entrance next to the bed and head through it into the cave system.
While the cave system may appear to be creepy it is still largely tutorial so you are relatively safe here. All you need to focus on is heading through it which can be done with or without a reliance on your matches. To advance through the caves simply head through them following the linear pass before. Many of the offshoots are dead ends you can explore if you wish but the main path is fairly obvious.
Jump Scare: Near the end of the cave system you will need to cross over some wooden beam. On the final beam you need to crossover it will break and you will fall to the ground below. This causes your fear to spike. Walk towards the spot along the path and head through it to trigger a vision of a strange creature. After this vision you will wake up near the end of the level.
Rift Amulet
To reach thhe end simply follow the path lower. Along the way the amulet on your wrist will activate. When you have the amulet out rifts will appear that you can pass through (look at the rift then put away your amulet to see its effect). There is only one rift you can go through so go through it. Exit out the other side and follow the path down until you reach the end of the level that leads to the Dark World.
