Chronos Before the Ashes: How to Get the Master Key
In the first world of Chronos Before the Ashes there is a library that has a bookshelf that is closed off. On this bookshelf there is a key. This Master Key is needed to advance the main story. At first glance it appears somewhat confusing to get the key for yourself. This is not actually the case. Use our how to get the Master Key guide below to make getting this key item a breeze.
Get the Stone Block Rune
To access the Bookshelf in the library you need to use the mirror to teleport there. Before you can do this you need to get a Stone Block rune that allows you to input the proper code. To get this block you need to complete a few tasks:
- Raise the water level moving the spout from the Library fountain to the fountain beneath the Guardian room.
- Get the Cyclops Gem from the platform raised by the water.
- Place the Cyclops Gem on the holder in the library to open the skull door.
- Walk along pathway in Guardian room to reach room at end.
Once you’ve done the above mentioned steps you will reach a room with the axe enemy. Defeat the axe enemy then grab the Stone Rune Block off of the table. Take this item and head back to the mirror control room. Rotate the left rune until there is an empty slot. Place the block inside.
Library Bookshelf Mirror Code
Once you’ve placed the rune it is time to input the Library Bookshelf Code. This code can be determined by interacting with the bookshelf and looking for the small mirror (shown above). Input the code shown above then head through the mirror to end up on the bookshelf as a smaller version of yourself.
Getting the Master Key
Fight your way through the Library Bookshelf so you reach the key below. Interact with the key and push it off of the shelf. Once the key is off the shelf return to the mirror and exit the bookshelf. As your normal size self head to the Library Bookshelf and pick up the key from off of the floor.
With the Master Key you can open a number of locked doors in world 1. These locked doors house secrets and main story progression. To advance the main story you have to get the Master Key item.
