Cyberpunk 2077 Removed from PlayStation Store, Full Refund Offered
It has been a rather tough launch for Cyberpunk 2077, and things are getting a whole lot worse. Given the state of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 launches of the game many players have sought to get refunds for their purchases. This rush for refunds of the digital copies has lead to mixed responses from both Microsoft and Sony regarding whether or not players could get their money back. Now, Sony has made it explicitly clear that fans unhappy with their purchase can refund Cyberpunk 2077.
Ask PlayStation Announces Removal of Cyberpunk 2077, Full Refunds
The announcement of the change in policy regarding refunds of Cyberpunk 2077 came from the official Ask PlayStation twitter account. This tweet that was published at 6:00 PM on December 17th had this to say:
“SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, and we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store and want a refund.”
The tweet then links to an official post on the PlayStation website that further elaborates on the refund process. This elaboration is as follows:
“Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund. Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution.”
It is also important to note that alongside the refund announcement Sony has revealed that the game will be pulled from the PlayStation Store until further notice is given.
Many players have been reporting terrible performance of Cyberpunk 2077 on previous generation consoles. The performance issues range from crashes, poor graphics, buggy quests, and more. This new direction with both refunds and the selling of the title on the PlayStation Store appears to be to address players concerns.
