Goldeneye Mod Adds Mario 64 Characters to the Iconic Shooter
The internet can be a bizarrely wonderful place at times and I love it. Take for example the three-year old Goldeneye mod by
StupidMarioBros1Fan with help from Graslu00, Carnivorous, Sogun and Wreck that is now getting some serious internet traction. What makes this mod especially meme-able is that it takes the classic first person shooter gameplay of Goldeneye 007 and adds Mario 64 characters into it. This combination is equally bizarre and wonderful.

To fully grasp the beauty of this combination of iconic games you need to see it in action. The video above by StupidMarioBros1Fan does a good job of highlighting the wackiness this mod provides.
The modded version of Goldeneye 007 starts with the iconic James Bond barrel shot, but James Bond is replaced by everyone’s favorite plumber Mario. From here things get crazy. Iconic characters from Mario 64 appear in the game and yes you can shoot them. I particularly enjoy Luigi playing the role of Sean Bean’s traitorous Alec Trevelyan. Other fun appearances include Peach as Natalya Simonova, Daisy as Xenia Onnatop, and Toad as Oddjob.
Character changes are not the only thing that has been added through the mod. The mod’s description says that things like dialogue and mission text have been changed to reflect the Mushroom Kingdom inhabitants.
