10 Games To Get Excited For This Fall 2017
With summer coming to a close, it is time to look towards fall. The fall typically signifies the start of school, but for me it signifies new game releases. So far, 2017 has been pretty light on games that have blown me away. While a few titles have come along that surprised me, I am looking forward to the fall to really round out this year. Here are 10 games to get excited for this fall 2017.
Destiny 2
Release Date: September 6/October 24
Systems: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
About: The follow up to the somewhat controversial title Destiny is slated to release this fall. While I was personally not invested in Destiny, of what I’ve seen from Destiny 2 during streams and playing the beta, I am slightly intrigued. If you don’t know, Destiny 2 brings more of that looter shooter goodness to fans of the series. Due to Bungie and Activision’s messed up release dates, I will be waiting until October 24th (PC release) to decide on whether I will pick this game up.
Cuphead
Release Date: September 29
Systems: Xbox One, PC
About: I’ve been waiting for Cuphead since back in 2014, so to have it be less than 20+ days away has me excited. Cuphead is an indie run and gunner with a unique art style and emphasis on difficult gameplay. I will definitely be picking this game up at the end of the month!
Middle – Earth: Shadow of War
Release Date: October 10
Systems: Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC
About: I played Shadow of Mordor months after the game’s release and I enjoyed my time with Talion. Hearing a sequel was coming did intrigue me, but talks of microtransactions have seriously tempered my expectations. With that being said, I want to kill orcs in brutal fashion and Shadow of War will allow me to do just that. Hopefully, Monolith doesn’t completely run this series into the ground.
South Park: The Fracture but Whole
Release Date: October 17
Systems: Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC
About: When South Park: The Stick of Truth was firstly released, I was floored over how good the game was. The essence of South Park was captured so well that you could tell the passion the developers put into the game. Hearing that a sequel was coming, I immediately became excited. Unfortunately, the wait has been longer than I wanted, but I fully expect South Park: The Fracture But Whole to be an amazing game.
Super Mario Odyssey
Release Date: October 27
Systems: Nintendo Switch
About: I don’t own a Nintendo Switch, but I can say that titles like Super Mario Odyssey make me want to buy one. The release of Super Mario Odyssey will mark seven years since the last true 3D Mario game. That’s a long time for everyone’s favorite plumber, and I am intrigued to see what zany adventures he gets into as he battles Bowser with his trusty, possession capable hat.
