Assassin’s Creed Movie Trailer
20th Century Fox showed off the first trailer for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. The film which stars Michael Fassbender of X-Men fame, has a plot synopsis of:
“Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar de Nerha, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.” (source)
Assassin’s Creed is one of the first ‘high’ profile game to movie adaptations to hit theatres in quite a while. It will be interesting to see how receptive fans are to video game movies in general. The movie looks to be true to form, capturing the Leap of Faith and Animus. What turned me off was the Kanye soundtrack, which sounded out of place. Assassin’s Creed is slated for release in December. It will be facing some stiff competition in Disney’s Rogue One, so here’s hoping it can rise to the occasion.
