Bear of the Blue Waters – Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Guide
In the Hordafylke area of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla there is a legendary animal players can hunt called the Bear of the Blue Waters. This large polar bear is one of nine legendary animals players can hunt as part of the Master Hunter Trophy/Achievement. Besides progress towards the achievement completing this hunt also earns XP, materials, and area mystery progress. To help you find and defeat this legendary polar bar we’ve put together the guide below.

Where to Find Bear of the Blue Waters
Hunting Log: “A hundred men hath climbed through the hellish froth of Thor’s Breath to meet this king, only to be stone-water at the bottom of this sacred lake in the Valley of the Forsaken. This bear was made with ice itself, they say, and born from Thor and Freyja’s affair. Beware, for its fangs thirst for the eyes of the idiotic.”
The Bear of the Blue Waters legendary polar bear can be found in Norway in the Hordaflyke region. This legendary animal can be found on a small island along the western coast. When you reach the small island you will see the polar bear sitting on it. When you get onto the island you will trigger the boss fight against Bear of the Blue Waters.
How to Defeat Bear of the Blue Waters
Like The Blood Swine the Bear of the Blue Waters is one of the highest level legendary animals you will fight in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This animal will charge you the moment you enter the area so be ready for an attack. Once it closes the gap the bear will stay fairly close to you where it will largely swipe at you with its front paws. This is good for us as staying behind it makes this fight fairly trivial to complete.
As I have been doing I recommend stocking up on Rations before entering the fight. Also ensure you are somewhat near the power recommendation for this fight as you will be wasting your time otherwise. Before you enter the boss arena be sure to make a save so you can quick load there and try again if needed.
Rewards for Defeating Bear of the Blue Waters
Like other legendary animals you will receive a number of rewards for felling this creature. Upon defeat you will earn XP, +1 Hordafylke Mystery, +12 Leather materials, and the Priestess Carving (Scheme). When you turn the head into Wallace it is mounted in your Longhouse at the settlement.
