Bethesda E3 2017 Conference
This E3 has been pretty strange. First off we had EA Play which had a few games, but felt long. This conference was followed by Microsoft, who had a bunch of games and ran long. Bethesda, the third of the bunch to present, was a strange combination of both short and only a handful of games. Strange. Anyways, here are the notable announcements from the Bethesda E3 2017 conference.
VR Doom + VR Fallout 4
Bethesda hit us right off the bat with the games that Bethesda VR has been working on. Before you get all excited, these games are already out, but are getting VR editions. The two games shown off were Doom VFR and Fallout 4 VR. There were trailers for both games, but as you have more then likely played these games already, I omitted them.
Skyrim on Nintendo Switch
We heard that Skyrim would be coming to the Nintendo Switch, back when the Nintendo Switch was first announced. Now, being true to their word, Bethesda has released a trailer showing off Skyrim on the Nintendo Switch. Obviously the most interesting part of the demonstration, is that there will be Amiibo support. Yup, they show Link in Skyrim. Enjoy!
The Evil Within 2
I don’t want to sound arrogant or anything, but I pretty much predicted the ‘big titles’ that Bethesda would show. The Evil Within 2 seemed to be a super obvious choice heading into the conference and much to my unsurprise, it was there! I actually really dug the trailer as it had a sort of Resident Evil/Westworld vibe. Check it out!
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
My next prediction was that there would be a new Wolfenstein. Sure enough, Bethesda delivered. We got to see William “B.J.” Blazkowicz in married civilian life. Turns out old BJ is expecting twins with his wife and things still ain’t that great in the world. More Nazi killing is always appreciated. Oh and there’s acid in the game… so yeah.
Overall, Bethesda kept things super short and super sweet. The conference was short and sweet and kept things moving at a nice pace. I was happy with what I saw, but really hoped that there was some sort of surprise or hidden project. It does seem like maybe those type of wow announcements are no longer a thing (with the internet and everything).
