Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Battle Royale Mode Announced Called ‘Blackout’
Treyarch, the makers behind the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, held a livestream event earlier today which revealed a number of new additions to the game. One of the least surprising announcements was confirmation that Black Ops 4 Battle Royale mode will be called Blackout.
Blackout Mode is COD’s Battle Royale Mode
The new Blackout mode will be the first attempt by Call of Duty to take on the extremely popular and lucrative Battle Royale game mode which is currently dominating the gaming landscape. In this new mode, fans of Call of Duty can expect larger maps (then ever seen in a COD), tight gunplay and movement, and the addition of usable vehicles for land, sea, and air. Having vehicles in this mode will mark the first time that a Call of Duty has allowed players to drive vehicles in the series.
Besides these few teases, we didn’t get much more information on the new mode, but expect to see them ramp up the hype around this mode as we march towards Black Op 4‘s fall release.
With the confirmation of Black Ops 4 Battle Royale mode, it will be interesting to see what EA and Dice reveal on May 23, regarding COD competitor Battlefield. I’m calling a Battle Royale mode right now.
