Anointed items are a new type of item you can find in Borderlands 3. These items feature special bonuses which apply to specific character’s skills/playstyles.

The Anointed bonus can apply to various item tiers including blue, purple, and legendary. Think of Anointed Items as featuring unique perks which you can’t get on normal items in Borderlands 3.

Where to Get Anointed Items?

Anointed items are acquired like other items in Borderlands 3: you farm them off enemies, buy them from vendors like Earl, or find them in chests/loot sources. When dropped these Anointed items give off a strong glow that makes them stand out from other items (see image above).
