Ubisoft Reveals More Information on Far Cry 5 DLC and Map Editor
Ubisoft has laid out there plans for Far Cry 5 post-launch content and today we got a chance to take a look at them. While DLCs had been previously announced (set to take place on Mars, Vietnam and a zombie wasteland), Ubisoft has revealed Far Cry Arcade, a massive map editor for the game. Far Cry 5 DLC
As you can see from the trailer above, Far Cry 5 has a rather diverse offering of DLC coming to the game post-launch. While the base game is set in Hope County USA, the DLCs appear to have very little to do with that setting. The first DLC titled Hours of Darkness, drops players into Vietnam where they will be tasked with fighting Viet Cong and freeing POW buddies. The second DLC titled Lost On Mars sends players to Mars where they will attempt to save Earth from an upcoming alien invasion. The third DLC called Dead Living Zombies appears to be a cooperative zombie horde mode that takes place across seven different scenarios.
If the DLC interests you, Ubisoft is also throwing in a copy of Far Cry 3 Classic Edition for those that purchase the season pass.
Far Cry Arcade
Alongside the DLC mentioned above, Far Cry 5 is also getting a level editor dubbed Far Cry Arcade. A map editor is nothing new to the Far Cry series, but appears to be the biggest offering of assets to use yet. Ubisoft has revealed that the map editor features more than 7,000 different objects that players can use in their level builds. These objects come from across Ubisoft’s many titles and include the likes of Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Unity and Watch Dogs.
Objects in the Far Cry Arcade can be used to make various levels for the map editor’s confirmed four game types: Assault, Outpost, Bounty Hunt and Journey. Ubisoft also has announced that there will be six content updates for the editor, so expect the game types to grow.
Far Cry 5 will release on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on March 27.
