Cold Iron Studios is Working on a New Alien Shooter

FoxNext,  the interact entertainment division of 20th Century Fox, recently acquired Cold Iron Studios, and is putting their new studio acquisition to work on a new Alien shooter.

In announcing the acquisition, FoxNext Games president Aaron Loeb had this to say:

“Cold Iron Studios has amazing design, craftsmanship, and development talent that we are excited to welcome at FoxNext Games as we pursue our goal to build a multi-platform, multi-genre portfolio of great games,”

“I am a personal fan of Cold Iron’s previous work and all of us at FoxNext Games are thrilled to be working with them as they create an action-packed persistent world, steeped in the mysteries of this beloved Alien universe.”

Alongside the acquisition announcement, FoxNext revealed that Cold Iron Studios will be working on a new Alien shooter for PC and consoles (no word on what those are).

Cold Iron Studios has yet to produce a title under the company banner, but the employees have worked on various AAA titles in the past, including the likes of BioShock Infinite, Metroid Prime 3, Borderlands, Neverwinter, and City of Heroes among other titles.

While the Alien series has been churning out new feature films, it has been quite some time since an Alien game has been released. The last title, Alien: Isolation, released back in 2014 and took things in a survival horror direction which was well received by critics and users alike.
