The Prismatic Recaster is a major loot mechanic in Destiny 2‘s Season of Arrivals as it allows you to narrow down your rewards from Umbral Engrams. Umbral Focusing Armor & Weapons Categories
Basic Umbral Focusing (1 Free/Weekly)
- Pyramid-Focused Umbral Engram: A Focused Umbral Engram containing a weapon from the Darkness.
- Armor-Focused Umbral Engram: A Focused Umbral Engram containing a piece of Holdfast armor. Requires onwining Season Pass Armor to generate.
- Legacy-Seasons-Focused Umbral Engram: A Focused Umbral Engram containing weapons from the past 3 seasons of Year 3.
- Dredgen-Focused Umbral Engram: A Focused Umbral Engram containing weapons favored by the Drifter.
Improved Arsenal Focusing (Requires Improved Arsenal Focusing from Season Pass)
- Rifle-Focused Umbral Engram: A Focused Umbral Engram containing either the False Promises Auto Rifle or the Hollow Words Fusion Rifle.
- Edge-Focused Umbral Engram: A Focused Umbral Engram containing either the Whispering Slab Bow or the Temptation’s Hook Sword.
- Arrival-Focused Umbral Engram: A Focused Umbral Engram containing either the Cold Denial Pulse Rifle or the Falling Guillotine Sword. Requires obtaining both Season Pass weapons to generate.
- Worthy-Focused Umbral Engram: A Focused Umbral Engram containing either the Seventh Seraph CQC-12 Shotgun or Seventh Seraph VY-7 Submachine Gun.
- Dawn-Focused Umbral Engram: A Focused Umbral Engram containing either the Breachlight Sidearm or Martyr’s Retribution Grenade Launcher.
- Undying-Focused Umbral Engram: A Focused Umbral Engram containing either the Optative Hand Cannon or Temporal Clause Machine Gun.
- Contrast-Focused Umbral Engram: A Focused Umbral Engram containing either the Lonesome Sidearm or the Bad Omens Rocket Launcher.
- Lead-Focused Umbral Engram: A Focused Umbral Engram containing either the Gnawing Hunter Auto Rifle or the Night Watch Scout Rifle.
Improved Armor Focusing (Requires Improved Armor Focusing from Season Pass)
- Discipline-Focused Umbral Engram: Armor specially tuned to enhance the wearer’s will and focus.
- Intellect-Focused Umbral Engram: Armor specially focused to enhance the wearer’s mind and wits.
- Mobility-Focused Umbral Engram: Armor specially tuned to enhance the wearer’s speed and agility.
- Recovery-Focused Umbral Engram: Armor specially tuned to enhance the wearer’s tenacity and renewal.
- Resilience-Focused Umbral Engram: Armor specially tuned to enhance the wearer’s grit and toughness.
- Strength-Focused Umbral Engram: Armor specially tuned to enhance the wearer’s power and physique.
By using the above focusing methods you can narrow down the rewards you receive when opening an Umbral Engram. This means players are more likely to get weapons that compliment their style of play instead of random trash. This sort of control is a good thing, but there is still a bit of a grind associated with the Improved focusing as you will need to grind for materials.
