Dr. M & the Women or: The 5,000 Ovaries Of Dr. M…

Annapurna Pictures has released a nothing teaser that is supposed to be wetting our cinematic appetites regarding some future film that they will be releasing. Literally a minute of Googling reveals that this is likely a bio-pic about the creation of Wonder Woman. Another minute on the internet reveals that there was an intriguing love triangle between Wonder Woman creators/co-creators William Moulton Marston (Dr. Marston if your nasty), Elizabeth Marston (wife), and Olive Byrne (the married couple’s domestic partner). We will now turn to Wikipedia for some more juicy details.

Olive was involved with William Marston, a married man. His wife, Elizabeth Marston, knew of their relationship and the three lived together for a number of years. Both women had Marston’s children while the three were together, and Elizabeth named her daughter Olive after Byrne. Many historians assume that the women got along rather well. Because of the unusual relationship situation and living arrangements, anyone who asked was told that Olive was Elizabeth’s widowed sister.

Va-va-voom, things certainly sound like they were pretty spicy, but alas I can’t help but feel that there is a very small chance that this movie will be any good. I am just going off of the very “The Asylum” style marketing ploy that Annapurna has chosen to go with, in regards to riding off the hype train of Wonder Woman‘s opening weekend though…did somebody say.

“Look into the eyes of a FilmApe and you will see real stupidity. It is a kind of bottomless stupidity, a fiendish stupidity. They are the most horrifying, cannibalistic and nightmarish creatures in the world.” - Werner Herzog
