Fallout 4 DLC Announced

Today seemed to be the day of DLC announcements and leaks. First up is the official season pass for Fallout 4(this was apparently talked about in September, but things change). While initially pegged at $29.99 usd/basically $1,000,000 CAD, Bethesda has announced that the season pass will be…. Going up in price come March 1st. After March 1st, the season pass will retail for $49.99 USD/basically $5,000,000 CAD.

The first DLC is called Automatron and is a mod-focused expansion which will apparently let you harvest parts from evil robots to build custom robot companions. So if your Codsworth is lacking in robot appeal, this DLC may be right for you.

The next DLC is called Wasteland Workshop and allows you to build cages to capture creatures, tame them and then… Make them fight for your pleasure. This one feels ripped right from the console command community, but I like it.

But if your only reaction to these two DLC is…

Then I have good news for you. THERE’S MORE!

The last DLC is arguably the most interesting. Announced today, the new expansion is called Far Harbor. This is a full update and it is probably best to let Bethesda explain what the DLC entails:

“A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.”

Bethseda had a really good DLC with Shivering Isles (Oblivion) and with Dragonborn (Skyrim) I’m hoping that Far Harbour will be like those, but the Wasteland Workshop has me most excited to be honest for something truly unique.

Seems expensive for a DLC. What DLCs have truly delivered in the past?
