Fallout 76 Revealed as Next Fallout Game in Series
Following a 24 hour stream over on Twitch, Bethesda has revealed Fallout 76, the next title in the Fallout series. The reveal was little more than a teaser, but there are number of clues which have emerged from the 1 minute 34 second video. Take a look at the Fallout 76 teaser trailer below.
Fallout 76 Teaser Trailer
Right off the bat we can discern that the 76 in the title of Fallout 76 refers to Vault 76 which the character in the teaser is from. The trailer shows off what appears to be a good conditioned vault that is set up for a “Reclamation Day” party. Besides giving a brief tour of the vault, we also get a look at the iconic Pip-Boy which is worn by a vault dweller who puts on a blue Vault 76 suit. The date on the Pip-Boy reads October 27, 2012.
Towards the end of the trailer we see a broadcast of what appears to be a politician or leader of sorts standing outside of Vault 76. The man states that, “when the fighting has stopped and the fallout has settled, you must rebuild.” Given the noticeable lack of weapons shown in the teaser, it could imply that we have reached a time of relative peace in the Fallout universe and there will be more emphasis on building rather than combat this time around.
Scoring the teaser is a cover of John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” which could be an indication of Fallout 76 occuring in West Virginia. There is other evidence of this connection as Polygon reports that files on Bethesda’s press site appear to refer to the game as “Mountain”. This could be hinting at the Appalachian Mountains which are located in the region.
Fallout 76 is currently in development by Bethesda Game Studios for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. Expect to see more information on the newest Fallout at Bethesda’s E3 press conference (BE3) in Los Angeles on June 10 at 6:30 PM PT.
I mean, I think the only reason that people have continued to play fallout 4 is because of how well some of the building was. I would be pretty surprised though if the game didn’t have the regular run around with Deathclaws. My guess is that there will be more ability to grow and build new settlements.
It seems like it might be a Rust like game. Anyone get this vibe?
