First Pokemon for Nintendo Switch Revealed, Has Pokemon Go Support

The Nintendo Switch has been a hit success for Nintendo but there has been a serious lull in major first party exclusive titles in 2018. Thankfully, owners of the Nintendo Switch can breathe a little bit easier today thanks to the reveal of a Pokemon title for the console.

Dubbed Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee!, the first Pokemon for Nintendo Switch will take players back to the Kanto region to experience generation 1 in a whole new way. Take a look at the trailer below to see what Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! is all about.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee! Trailer

The trailer for the new Pokemon Switch title starts off with the a shot of the real world and an individual playing Pokemon Go. This individual then heads home and starts playing Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! on their Switch. From here we get a good look at the graphics and style of the first Pokemon for Nintendo Switch. Graphically speaking, the game is in 3D and it appears to feature a number of new battle animations.

Graphics aside we also learn a bit about the setting and features of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!. The game’s setting is the Kanto region and as the tagline “your first adventure in a new style” suggests, it is a remake of the generation 1 games released back in 1998.

Although the game is a remake, there are a number of new features included in the title: cooperative drop in play, Pokemon Go support, and the Pokeball Plus peripheral. These new features bring a more modern spin to the Pokemon recipe and appear to be leveraging much of the technology found inside the Nintendo Switch.

Both Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! for Nintendo Switch are slated to release on November 16, 2018.
