God of War Release Date Announced
In a PlayStation Blog post, Sony has announced that God of War release date on PlayStation 4 will be April 20, 2018 (4/20 for those with poor math skills).
Alongside the date revelation, Sony released another trailer for the game. The new trailer features both Kratos and his son Atreus along with some new locations and story beats.
God of War Trailer
While not a ton of story is revealed in the trailer above, we can gleam a major plot point. Kratos appears to be grappling with revealing his true nature to his son (who appears to possess similar abilities). This seems to be the main story arc, as Kratos appears to teach Atreus the family business along their journey. Besides hinting at this arc, the trailer shows off a number of new enemies as well as new locations
Alongside the date reveal, Sony’s Cory Barlog had a few things to say about creating the new God of War:
First, let me say that this is my favorite release day of my entire career. If I live to be 100, I do not think I will be able to top this release day.
There has been a long journey just to reach this point, so it’s a little bittersweet to think that we are only a few months away from that journey finally coming to an end. While I am sad, I am also excited because it means everyone will get their hands on this crazy adventure we have been crafting for nearly five years!
Barlog also used the post to reveal the Preorder Offers available for God of War. There are multiple editions available, with various bonuses I cover here. Preordering any edition will net you three legendary shield skins.
Look for God of War to drop on 4/20 of this year.
