Good Time Trailer
Of all the young actors who were brought up in the business by big Hollywood franchises, there is not a single one that impresses me as much Robert Pattinson does. He had all the cards stacked against him, in regards to the vitriol spouted against him by the court of public opinion, and he’s been able to work with interesting directors and play interesting characters ever since the end of the Twilight series. Really, my entire opinion of him as an actor is influenced by his performance in David Michod’s The Rover, which is an extremely underrated film. Pattinson turns in a performance in that flick that just blew me away at how honestly he played a very unflattering character.
In Good Time, it seems like Pattinson is at it again, playing what appears to be another real and unflattering character, and the first look has me intrigued. I am not familiar with the brother director team of Ben and Joshua Safdie, though I do remember hearing about their 2009 film Daddy Longlegs, when it played at Sundance.
As for the trailer itself, it’s another classic A24 trailer. We really don’t get much info about the plot, aside from that it appears to be about two criminal brothers in New York City, and that Jennifer Jason Leigh and Barkhad Abdi will play some part in the story. Too be honest, the trailer didn’t at first capture my interest, but once the Iggy Pop & Oneohtrix Point Never song really kicked it, I was sold, and I feel safe in saying this is another classic A24. I love the shot of the apartment building with the…well, see it for yourself. Good Time is out August 11th
This looks pretty hip. The drop from the hotel window was pretty crazy
