What Happened To Monday aka Seven Sisters Trailer

So, we’ve got a trailer here that looks to be part Equilibrium and part whatever dystopian YA film adaptation you want to insert here, but it’s for adults. Noomi Rapace is playing seven characters, all named after the days of the week, by her dad played by Willem Dafoe. It is surprising that they didn’t cast a younger actress in the role, in order to capitalize on the popularity of stuff like The Hunger Games and Divergent, but since this isn’t based on a known property, it probably doesn’t matter that much.

The flick seems to have been in traction for a while, as the director Tommy Wirkola, who did the Dead Snow movies, announced the film back in 2013, and the script was apparently on the black list way back in 2010. Overall, What Happened To Monday just feels like your standard low budget science fiction film, and while it doesn’t mention it in the trailer, Netflix has picked this up, and that makes a lot of sense to me. This is the kind of high concept sci-fi that will get people interested enough to check it out on a subscription service that they already have paid for, but it’ll likely come and go with no fan fare.

FilmApe

“Look into the eyes of a FilmApe and you will see real stupidity. It is a kind of bottomless stupidity, a fiendish stupidity. They are the most horrifying, cannibalistic and nightmarish creatures in the world.” - Werner Herzog
