Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice Guide

Swamp Shard Challenge

Ninja Theory wouldn’t introduce an enemy that can one hit kill you would they? Yes they would. In the Swamp Shard Challenge we meet this enemy and it’s a pain. Seriously. This was probably one of the least enjoyable sections of the game.

Getting In the Swamp Shack

When you arrive in the swamp, you’ll see Dillion in the distance going into a shack. We need to get inside this shack. Follow the linear path until you reach a skull illusion gate.

Illusion Gate 1

Near the first Illusion Gate, it appears as though your progress is blocked. Obviously we know better. Look through the illusion gate towards the blocked path to reveal a clear path. Head through it.

Make your way past the broken bridge and under the tower looking thing towards the second Illusion Gate.

Illusion Gate 2

Look through the Illusion Gate towards the base of the tower here to reveal a pathway. Make your way to the path and head up to the tower/lookout.

On the lookout, walk out onto the broken platform and look towards the broken bridge to the shack. Use focus to repair the bridge. Head down the lookout and use Illusion Gate 3 to leave.

Illusion Gate 3

If you find yourself unable to leave where the tower is, simply use the third Illusion Gate located nearby to make an exit.

With the bridge repaired, we can now make our way to the shack and the hell that is found inside.

Chased, but Not?

My experience with the next part of the Swamp challenge was absolutely miserable. I don’t know if I just didn’t grasp what I was suppose to do or something, but I died. A lot.

Anyways, when you make it into the shake, it turns out you are not alone. There is this fire beast that begins to chase you. While being chased, you need to collect three shapes to open the Shape Gate. The problem is that the creature kills you if it touches you.

My Escape

This section is a bit hard to describe as the level is basically a labyrinth so I’ve embedded a video of my run through. I hope this helps. If you have any strategies or tips for this section, please share them in the comments.

Completing this area, finishes the Swamp Shard Challenge.
