Highlights From EA’s E3 Conference

EA kicked off E3 with their conference. Many games were expected to be revealed. This article will share some of the highlights for EA’s E3.

Titanfall 2

Will not be Xbox exclusive, so welcome to PS4 players. New grappling hook mechanic. There will be wall running, double jumping and new assassinations. Titans have new animations and now appear more human like. The Titans also appear to have skins (camo for example).  Multiplayer will now support six Titans at a time instead of only three. Multiplayer test sign up at titanfall.com. Single-player will be available offline. Trailer here.

Madden 17

Not much to say here game wise. E-sport Initiative with three new community events run by EA. Basically huge tournaments with prizes for winners. Looks like a tiered system similar to LoL and other MOBAs.

Mass Effect Andromeda

Story based around leaving the Milky Way for Andromeda to find a new home for humanity. Game runs on Frostbite Engine (Battlefield). Thresher Maw will return! Not much else… A few cinematic and behind the scenes things.

FIFA 17:

Another sports game. Runs on Frostbite. Will feature a story mode, kind of like NBA 2K series. Player starts out as a Premiere League rookie trying to make it big. Big changes to give the player more control over dead balls, new attacking techniques and new ways to finish in front of the goal.

EA Originals program

EA’s new indie program. The aim of the program is to find unique experiences while also giving developers support. All profit from the game will go the developers. First EA Original is called Fe which is a 3D platform about learning songs.

Star Wars

Respawn (Titanfall devs) is making a 3rd person SW game. 2018 Amy Hennig is making a game with Visceral. Dice will inevitablly be making more Battlefront games, including those based on the new movies. Respawn game the big portion of Star Wars segment.

Battlefield 1

As was reported, Dice pushed really hard for WWI setting. EA initially said no, but came around. Launching October 21st. Focusing on making each battle dynamic and unique. The game will feature dynamic weather which will change how the battles progress. Large behemoth class of vehicles include armoured trains, Zeppelins and battleships. Flamethrowers will be available to use. Beta will be available late summer.

That’s all from EA’s E3 Conference. Pretty much a run of the mill conference with no real surprises. Battlefield 1 looks to be the real stand out.

Starting the site back in 2016, Eli has poured blood, sweat and tears into making HtR a premiere spot for neckbeards and nerds alike.
