How to Access the Control AWE DLC
The newest DLC content for Control is out now and with it comes a whole new story that may or may not contain Alan Wake. Like the other DLC content you will need to access a new area of Control to get at the new DLC. To help here’s how to access the Control AWE DLC.
Download the AWE DLC
Before you can do anything with this new DLC content you will first need to ensure you have the DLC on your system. To do this navigate to the storefront you purchased the season pass (or DLC from). Typically there will be a store page for the DLC so navigate there. Once you have ownership you will be able to access the DLC download. Complete the download then start your game.
Start the A Dark Place Quest
Important: This is an endgame quest. You need to have beaten the game to access this content.
Once you login to the game you should start up your save. Like the previous DLC you will get a prompt for a new quest. This DLC quest is called A Dark Place. If you are not in the Executive area head there now. Once there approach the Sector Elevator to see a familiar face sitting at a type writer. This triggers the new quest and starts the DLC.
That’s all you need to know if you are wondering how to access the AWE DLC content for Control. Overall accessing this DLC is fairly straightforward. If you are having any issues drop a comment below and see if a fellow Resetor can assist you.
If you are using Epic, select the game in your library, hit the … to the right, select Manage Addons and ensure that the AWE addon is enabled.
I don’t get the new mission prompt either and when I go to the sector elevator I don’t have the “investigations sector” in the list. I’ve beaten Face of the Emeny.
You on PS4? Have you tried heading to PSN, then Control. Once you’re in the game “page”, you can see to the right the option “expansions”. Just click, choose AWE. Once you get back to the game, make sure you’re in the Central Executive and a few seconds later, the mission will pop up. Just track and have fun. 🙂 At least this worked for me, perhaps it works for you too.
I had the same problem at first. I solved it by going to the PSN store and actually clicking ‘download’ on the AWE DLC. Afterwards, I jumped back on Control and it worked right away.
Just did that and it worked. Had to go to the control page on the ps store and download the AWE expansion as apposed to it out downloading.
*Auto downloading
even if I finished the main game and the first dlc, the new mission prompt doesn’t appear for me in the executive….
I only get the prompt for “The Foundation” quest. Nothing in Central executive.
