How to Access The Stir of Dawn DLC in Blasphemous
The first major piece of DLC content for Blasphemous is called The Stir of Dawn. This free update adds new bosses, new areas, new modes, and a new quest for players to complete. Like many DLCs, starting The Stir of Dawn can be a touch confusing. If you need to know how to access The Stir of Dawn DLC in Blasphemous you’ve come to the right place. Check out our guide below to learn more.
Beat Blasphemous and Ascend Save File
Before you can play the new DLC you first need to beat Blasphemous. This means reaching the final boss and defeating them. Once the final boss is defeated you will see the credits roll and will unlock the option to ascend your playthrough. Ascending your playthrouh triggers NG+ which let’s players keep the following:
- Prayers.
- Relics.
- Rosary Beads.
- Hearts.
- Abilities.
While the above items are what players get to keep, NG+ resets a number of things players will have to find all over again. The things that reset in Blasphemous NG+ are:
- Collectibles.
- Bile Flask upgrades.
- Fervour upgrades.
- Health upgrades.
- Rosary Knot upgrades.
- Quest, boss, general exploration, and key items.
When you encounter any of the items that carry over in your NG+ playthrough you will find Tears of Atonement in their place. You will also notice at the start of NG+ a new item called the Petrified Bell which allows you to access the DLC. When ready to take on a harder challenge Ascend your save file (this is permanent so think hard about it).
Reach New Area Calle Petrous
Once you’ve Ascended your game you will begin a new game in the Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow. Complete the tutorial section and defeat the boss to reach The Holy Line. In the second room of The Holy Line walk forward until the Petrified Bell begins to ring. At the spot it rings use the Weight of Sin (ground pound) to reveal a section heading down. This section takes your to Petrous.
Meet NPC Jibrael
In Petrous approach the only building in the middle of the room and interact with it to place the Petrified Bell. Once the bell is placed you can enter the building to meet the NPC called Jibrael. Once you speak to Jibrael in Petrous he will appear again in five locations:
- Convent of Our Lady of the Charred Visage.
- Echoes of Salt.
- Archcathedral Rooftops.
- Wall of the Holy Prohibitions.
- Hall of the Dawning.
Each time you encounter Jibrael in the locations above he will offer to use sing the bronze. When ask to use this Jibrael will summon a coffin pertaining to an Amanecidas of the Miracle. Amanecidas of the Miracle are the new bosses players can fight in NG+ mode.
