How to Get Krobus as Roommate in Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley update 1.4 brought with it a number of new additions to the popular farming game. One new addition involves the loveable character of Krobus. Those of you who wanted Krobus as a roommate can finally make that dream a reality. As of 1.4 Krobus is now a potential roommate candidate for those unmarried farmers out there. To learn more about the process check out our how to get Krobus as roommate guide below.
Be Single and Ready to Mingle
Note: Krobus is located in the Sewer which is accessible using the Rusty Key (got from Gunther at 60 Artifacts donated) on the manhole in town or the grate in Cindersnap Forest.
The first step in your journey to get Krobus as a roommate is to be single and ready to mingle. That’s right, Krobus is only an option if you are single. Married folk need not apply. When you are single and ready to mingle you want to raise Krobus friendship with you. You can do this a number of ways, but the easiest is to give him items he likes. See list below:
- Diamond.
- Iridium Bar.
- Pumpkin.
- Void Egg.
- Void Mayonnaise.
- Wild Horseradish.
The goal here is to raise your relationship with Krobus to 10 Hearts like you would a marriage candidate.
Upgrade to a Bigger House for Two
Like marriage you need to ensure you have a house big enough for Krobus to move into. The house size you need is at least the first house upgrade you can purchase from Robin. This upgrade costs a total of:
- 10,000g
- 450x Wood.
Once the upgrade is complete you can move onto the next step which is asking Krobus to move in with you as a friend. To do this you need to get a special item called the Void Ghost Pendant.
Where to Get Void Ghost Pendant?
To ask Krobus to move in with you you need to acquire the Void Ghost Pendant. Like the Mermaid’s Pendant this item can be given to Krobus to ask him to move in with you. To get this item you need to first reach max Heart level with Krobus. After you’ve done this make your way to the Calico Desert Trader. Since you’ve reached max friendship with Krobus the trader will sell you the Void Ghost Pendant for 200 Void Essence. Once you have the pendant give it to Krobus and he will move in with you.
Krobus Room
When Krobus moves in with you he gets his own spouse like room. This room is basically the Sewer recreated. During the day Krobus hangs out in the house and will stand in his Sewer room at night. If you return to the Sewer in place of Krobus you will find a chest with a note saying to leave payment in the box. This chest contains all of Krobus inventory for you to continue to purchase.
That’s all you need to know about getting Krobus as a roommate in Stardew Valley. While it’s not the same as marrying him as many people wanted, it’s nice to have him as a roommate. What do you think about Krobus as a roommate? Let me know in the comments below.
