How to Solve the Mirror Puzzle in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

As you progress through the main storyline of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, you will come to the Volcanic Island of Thera. On this island you will search for clues regarding you real father. One clue you discover will trigger an objective to “open the door.” To do this you need to move a number of mirrors around the island. This can be a bit confusing, so I thought I would help. Here’s how to solve the mirror puzzle in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Mirrors, Mirrors, and more Mirrors.

Are goal here is to shine the light on that mirror above the doorway here.

When you first arrive on Thera you will be prompted to loot a chest in your father’s camp. This chest holds a tablet which describes your father finding a door and a number of mirrors. The mirrors open the door. Are goal here is to shine the sun onto the mirrors to reach the mirror above the door. To do this we will need to move some mirrors around.

Mirror #1: Obstructed

If you head slightly south from the dock on the Caldera of Fate, you will see a number of mirrors that are already shining the light between one another. If you follow the light’s path, you will see it dies out. Where it dies out there is a mirror that is obstructed with wood (see pics above). Destroy the wood to continue the light path.

Mirror #2: Blocked Doorway + Covered Scaffolding

Now that we have the first mirror unobstructed, follow the light’s path into the building to the the west. At the top of the building you will see the beam dies out at a doorway that is boarded up. Destroy the boards to keep the beam moving towards the door we want to open. From the doorway you can take the zipline down into the building below.

In the lower room you will see a some scaffolding with a sheet over it that is blocking the light beam from reaching the mirror. Move the scaffolding back (only direction it can go) to get the light beam to the second mirror. This will cause the beam to continue, but it only goes a short distance.

Mirror #3: Move Neighboring Mirror Out of the Way

Directly beside mirror #2 is a moveable mirror that is very close. Move this mirror as far away as possible inside its track. Moving this mirror out of the way will allow you to send the light beam towards mirror #4.

Mirror #4: Move to Catch the Light from Mirror #2

With mirror #3 out of the way, you will see that mirror #2 is shining towards another mirror on a track in the same room. Move mirror #4 to catch the light from mirror #2. This will cause the light beam to continue out of the building towards the building by the docks/tent.

Mirror 5: Move That Stuff

On the top floor of the building near the dock, you will see that the fixed mirror on the wall is catching the light, but there is a number of items keeping it from shining anywhere. You need to clear the stuff out of the way to get the light to shine to the floor below (see picture). Once all the stuff is moved, the light will shine to the floor below. There is one more thing you need to do before the light can reach the door.

Final Mirror: Blocked Doorway

Drop down into the floor below and take out the snakes around the mirror. Look to south and you will see a door that is blocked with boards. Destroy the boards to let the light beam reach the door we wanted to open this whole time. With the light on the door, make your way over to it to go inside.

What’s Behind the Door?

When you make your way through the ruins you will reach Atlantis and your father.

With the door open, make your way over to it to trigger a cutscene. During the cutscene your character we head inside the door. This leads you into what appears to be another Ancient Forge. Inside this area you will need to do a bit of parkouring. Eventually you will reach the Gateway to The Lost City (AKA Atlantis). Turns out it isn’t a myth after all. Plus our boy Pythagoras is here! Speaking with Pythagoras will start The Gates of Atlantis mission, which provides some extra lore for completing.

Followed your directions and was able to open the door within minutes. Really helped to know that the Family Legacy quest had to be opened first in order for the light to reflect from one mirror to the next to begin this journey! Thanks for the instructions!

Do you have to have triggered the “who’s my father” story first, because I have waited by mirror 1 for about 3 days (real life days!) and there’s sod all sun on Santorini; I mean Caldera

    ?

If your struggling, you need a specific oddysey quest for the light to appear.

I ran into same situation…I literally flipped day to night 6 times before I noticed the sun slowly moving…then it hit me….you actually have to wait around and let the day progress….slowly over 20 mins, the sun finally hits the mirror and you can start at number 1 above….hope that helps
