How to turn off motion controls in Paper Mario: The Origami King
By default you will find motion control to be on when you first start up Paper Mario: The Origami King. This on setting is due to the game’s folding mechanic which requires you to tilt the controller or move it in a specific direction to complete various folding puzzles. If the idea of moving your controller around is bothersome to you simply turn off this feature by doing the following:
- Press + to access the Menu.
- Press R to scroll to the tab with the gear.
- Use the L-Stick to move the cursor and select Motion Controls.
- Move it to the right to highlight OFF.
- Press + to exit the menu.
Motion controls can be turned off the moment you reach Peach’s castle in the prologue after the opening kart ride. Once Mario jumps off the kart you will have control which means you can use the steps above to go from motion to more traditional controls.
