The Division 2 received a new update today that features a number of new additions to the game including a new Exotic Assault Rifle called the Chameleon. How to Get The Division 2’s Chameleon Exotic Assault Rifle?

I have some bad news for you. The Chameleon is a random world drop. This means there is now sure way to get this exotic AR for yourself in any sort of quick manner. If you are lucky it may not take you very long to acquire, but there’s also a possibility you could never get it either (random drops suck). If you want to improve your luck try completing bounties since they end in a boss fight.

What Perks does the Chameleon have?

Like other Exotics in The Division 2, the Chameleon features unique talents specific to this weapon. These two talents revolve around AR boosting stats and are as follows:

  • Adaptive Instincts: Trigger upon hitting specific shots.
    • 30 headshots grants +20% critical hit chance and +50% critical hit damage for 45s.
    • 60 body shots grants +100% weapon damage for 45s.
    • 30 leg shots grants +150% reload speed for 45s.
  • Overlap: While holstered gain 5% weapon handling.

Overall this new weapon is fairly underwhelming. Many players are reporting poor accuracy out of this exotic which makes it fairly useless. The uselessness of the Chameleon is in stark contrast to the Savage Wolverine, another new weapon added in the update.

That’s all you need to know about the newest exotic in The Division 2. As mentioned above this weapon is a random world drop, so you can literally get it from almost anything. This Redditor opened a chest and received the exotic AR. Happy exotic hunting.
