How to Unlock the Haley 14 Heart Event in Stardew Valley
In the new 1.4 update of Stardew Valley ConcernedApe added new Heart Events to unlock with your spouses. These Heart Events take place at 14 Hearts. To help you unlock each new Heart Event I am writing a guide for each spouse. The guide below shows you how to unlock the Haley 14 Heart Event in Stardew Valley.
How to Reach 14 Hearts with Haley?
To unlock the new event you first need to reach 14 hearts with Haley. You should already be around 10 since you’ve married her. To quickly raise the hearts with Haley you will want to give her the any of the following favorite items until you reach 14 Hearts:
- Coconut.
- Fruit Salad.
- Pink Cake.
- Sunflower.
Once you’ve reached 14 Hearts with Haley you need to trigger the next portion of the Heart Event. To do this make your way into town at around 10 AM when Haley goes into town (Mondays).
Head into Town to Learn About Penny’s Money Problems
When you enter town you will see a short cutscene. During this cutscene Haley overhears Penny talking to the children about their books being old. There’s no money to get new ones so there’s not much to do. Once the cutscene has occurred it’s on to the next portion of this Heart Event.
Talk to Haley to Learn About Cake-Walk
Once you’ve seen this cutscene head back to your house. Over the following days you should trigger a cutscene with Haley when she is in the kitchen. During the cutscene Haley says the following:
Hey… I have an idea… I want get everyone together for a charity cake-walk. Uh… It’s kind of like musical chairs, but everyone wins and gets cake. You’ll see… It’ll be on the next sunny day in the town square. Um… would you mind bringing a chocolate cake?
Haley.
During the cutscene you learn Haley wants you to bring a Chocolate Cake for the cake-walk. Agree to do this to trigger a new quest called Haley’s Cake-Walk. To complete this quest you need to bring a Chocolate Cake to the town square when the weather is sunny.
How to Complete Haley’s Cake-Walk
To complete the Haley’s Cake-Walk event you need to get a Chocolate Cake. The sources for Chocolate Cakes are as follows:
- Make yourself: recipe learned on The Queen of Sauce (14 Winter, Year 1).
- Possible purchase from Krobus’ Shop on Saturdays.
- Possible purchase from Stardrop Saloon.
Once you’ve acquired a Chocolate Cake for Haley wait for a sunny day and head into town. When you arrive in town you will trigger a cutscene. During the cutscene the townsfolk walk clockwise on a mat with numbers on it. Haley will yell stop and the number the person is standing on corresponds with the cake they won. You also learn the 5,000G raised from the event is going to help Penny. After the cutscene you return to the farm. Here you can speak to Haley about the event a little bit more.
