How to Unlock the Maru 14 Heart Event in Stardew Valley
In the new 1.4 update of Stardew Valley ConcernedApe added new Heart Events to unlock with your spouses. These Heart Events take place at 14 Hearts. To help you unlock each new Heart Event I am writing a guide for each spouse. The guide below shows you how to unlock the Maru 14 Heart Event in Stardew Valley.
How to Reach 14-Hearts with Maru?
To unlock the new event you first need to reach 14 hearts with Maru. You should already be around 10 since you’ve married her. To quickly raise the hearts with Maru you will want to give her the any of the following favorite items until you reach 14 Hearts:
- Battery Pack.
- Cauliflower.
- Cheese Cauliflower.
- Diamond.
- Gold Bar.
- Iridium Bar.
- Miner’s Treat.
- Pepper Poppers.
- Rhubarb Pie.
- Strawberry.
Once you’ve reached 14 Hearts with Maru you need to trigger the next portion of the Heart Event. To do this enter the house when Maru is home after 6:10 AM (pretty much every day of the week).
Enter House to Learn Maru Wants to Watch a Comet
When you enter your house you will trigger a cutscene. During this cutscene Maru will talk about an upcoming astronomical event featuring a comet passing by the planet. She wants to know if you want to watch it with her. You will automatically answer yes. To watch the comet you need to meet her at midnight in the mountains. If the weather is rainy meet her the next night. asks if you’ve had a good day. Answer with whatever and she will reply then hug you. After this she will talk a little bit then mention she wants to re-decorate the bedroom. She will ask you for a theme: Pass the time to the next night however you see fit. When midnight rolls around head up to the mountains area.
Meet Maru at Carpenter’s Shop Around Midnight
Weather permitting make your way to the Carpenter’s Shop area around midnight (I went at 11 and it triggered). Once you enter the area you will trigger a cutscene with Maru. It is a familiar cutscene, but with new implications. Maru even points this out as she mentions being too scared to tell you her real feelings the first time you gazed into the stars and yet now you’re married to each other. Once the comet is passed Maru will ask you to make a wish. The choices are:
- A new baby.
- For us to grow old together.
- More money.
After you give your answer she will hug you. This ends the event.
