There is a main quest line during the Lantern Rite called All That Glitters. This quest line features Xiao and revolves around the Lantern Rite. As a quest line there are a number of quests within that you need to complete. These quests are: The Origin of the Lanterns, Currents Deep Beneath the Lanterns, and Light Upon the Sea.

Lantern Rite Tales are side mission requests that can be completed to earn event XP called Festive Fever. Festive Fever contributes to leveling up the Lantern Rite event. There are three levels you can level up the event to:

  • We’ve Only Just Begun (0-1000).
  • Guests Flock From Afar (1000-2000).
  • Glow of a Thousand Lanterns (2000+).

Each time you complete a Lantern Rite Tale you will earn Festive Fever. There are a total of 27 Lantern Rite Tales to complete across the three Lantern Rite Tales tiers. By completing the main event quests you unlock the new tiers and new requests (allowing you to earn more Festive Fever).

Each day the event runs you should be logging into the game and completing the Lantern Rite Tales available to you. The goal is to reach the Glow of a Thousand Lanterns event level so complete ~20 requests.

You will need to complete these challenges, which you can find on the Theater Mechanicus event screen, to earn enough currency to buy the character you want. Make sure you have the 1k Peace Talisman available to spend for the next step.

Purchase the Character You Want
