The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Trailer
Nintendo showed off one of their most hyped games today, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This new Zelda takes the series in a different direction, creating a larger, more open world game then has been seen in the series before. Players will be able to choose their paths through the world while exploring mountains, fields and forests. Sprawling landscapes are ripe to be explored.
As a result of the open world comes new means of travel. Link will be able to jump (a first for the 3D versions of the series), paraglider around and climb up cliffs. Trusty Epona will still be around for Link to ride on as well. Link also has ample selection of weapons, as they can be picked up from downed enemies or found throughout the world.
The environment will play a large role in Breath of the Wild. Link will be able to forage and gather resources which can be used to help in his adventure. The game will feature a day/night cycle and weather. In more frigid regions, Link can bundle up, while in areas that are more desert like, he can lose a few layers. There is a cooking mechanic based on the environment which involves gathering ingredients then using a campfire to create meals. This cooking mechanic is the new form of healing replacing classic heart containers.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is slated for release in 2017 for both the NX and Wii U.

What do you think of the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Let me know in the Pit below.
It looks great, nice blend of Windwaker cell shading and Skyward Sword realism! I’m especially excited for some snowy mountain traveling.
