Metal Gear Survive Staging Area – Everything to Know
The last few areas of the Metal Gear Survive Staging Area allow you to do target practice, manage your inventory, upgrade your soldier, and customize your loadout. Below I will go over each of these areas. Let’s go!
Training Area
Activating the Training Area causes a number of Training Targets to appear. You can use weapons you have equipped on these Training Targets to test out different attachments, upgrades and so on. While inside the Staging Area you have unlimited ammo, so go crazy (you can also shoot squad members).
Repository
The Repository allows you to manage a number of different areas of your soldiers layout along with your inventory. You can also access Supply Boxes and Communication Settings from here. Each menu option is listed below.
Change Equipment – Change weapons, gear, or survival equipment

- Gadgets
- Gear
- Survival Equipment
- Ammo
Manage Possessions – Take out or deposit consumables
- Food & Drink
- Consumables
- Materials
Stored Item List – Check all of contents of Storehous
- Weapons List

Edit Loadout – Edit or assign equipment combination (can create multiple soldier layouts).
Communication Settings – Edit communication parameters
- Edit radio presets
- Edit gestures
- Change Nameplate
Supply Box – Receive items given to you
Skill Trainer
The Skill Trainer area allows you to improve classes and learn skills. It is here you can spend Kuban Energy to increase your overall level and learn new skills. Status like Strength, Vitality, Dexterity, and Endurance are improved here. Increasing class level earns you Skill Points which can be spent on Class Skills.
Customization Area
In the Customization Area there are five workbenches. Each bench allows you to build certain items ranging from armor to weapons to even food dishes. Each workbench will be broke down below.
Gadgets Workbench (Flashlight Icon) – Workbench for crafting basic gadgets
- Craft – Craft using materials you’ve gathered
- Repair – Repair items such as guns and armor
- Convert Materials – Convert material into other materials
- Change Equipment – Same as Repository
- Manage Possessions – Same as Repository
Weapons Workbench (Gun Icon) – Workbench for crafting basic weaponry
- Craft – Craft weapons using materials you’ve gathered
- Customize – Strengthen, add Perks, add Attachments, and Change Color of Equipment
- Repair – Repair equipment using materials and KUB
- Dismantle – Breakdown equipment for material
- Change Equipment – Same as Repository
Medical Workstation (Cross Icon) – Workstation for crafting basic medical supplies
- Craft – Craft medical supplies using materials you’ve gathered
- Manage Possessions – Same as Repository
Gear Workbench (Helmet Icon) – Workbench for crafting basic gear
- Craft – Craft armor using materials you’ve gathered
- Customize – Strengthen, add Perks, add Attachments, and Change Color of Equipment
- Repair – Repair equipment using materials and KUB
- Dismantle – Breakdown equipment for material
- Change Equipment – Same as Repository
Kitchenette (Cooking Pot Icon) – Basic cooking setup
- Craft – Cook food using materials you’ve gathered
- Manage Possessions – Same as Repository

I can see weapons in my armory list that I can not see or equip at all. I’m on ps4 and it’s super annoying. Even if I make my guy naked these weapons do not show up in any weapons slots what so ever.
