Pokémon Presents Rundown (February 26, 2021)

It has been a bit of time since Nintendo announced what is going on with their wildly popular Pokémon IP. While we’ve seen news of a new Pokémon Snap the mainline of the series has been surprisingly quiet. Thankfully we now have a bit of a better understanding as to what the next Pokémon title will be. This news came from a Pokémon Presents that was aired on the official Pokémon YouTube channel. For a complete look at what was shown consult the list below.

February 26, 2021 Pokémon Presents Reveals List

The prerecorded video that premiere at 7 AM PT showed off a number of Pokémon announcements. These announcements took up roughly 25 minutes. The announcements made during the February 26, 2021 Pokémon Presents were as follows:

  • The livestream opened with a brief look at the history of Pokémon products over the years in honor of the series 25th anniversary.
  • New Pokémon Snap: Look at the upcoming New Pokémon Snap title. This segment revealed a bit more about the title including a new look at biomes, characters, and Pokémon. This game will release on the Nintendo Switch on April 30th.
  • Pokémon Day Celebrations: A number of celebrations are occurring across various Pokémon properties for Pokémon day.
  • Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl: First look at the remake of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl. This remake will be released in the later half of 2021 for Nintendo Switch. Developing this title is ILCA (Pokémon Home).
  • Pokémon Legends Arceus: New approach to the Pokémon series. An open-world third person style sgame where players control a trainer in the Sinnoh region of old. Game is being developed by Game Freak. Release date planned for early 2022.

    I’m intrigued to get more info on the battle and catching mechanics. Looks more realistic and I like that.
