Prey How to Get Out of Deep Storage
One of the major positives of Prey is the game’s openness. Players can go where they want and explore at their own pace. One area, Deep Storage, kind of turns this formula on its head a bit, as you are essentially locked in. Once you have completed your mission, then the escape path opens. The problem I encountered was actually getting to the escape pod. This led to hours of frustration. However, I can safely say that I have figured it out! Here is my Prey how to get out of Deep Storage guide.
The Answer Lies in the Staircase
Once you have gathered the data you need, you will be told to access a computer to trigger the jettisoning of a Data Vault. This Data Vault appears to only be accessible by having Leverage 3. This is not the case. Head back into the stairwell and look for grey piping running upwards. Use this pipe to climb to the top and then drop down into the Data Vault area. Then if you are like me and have zero ammo, zero health and zero Psi, make a mad dash for the pod. Such a simple solution, but so incredibly frustrating to find.

Alternative Route:
As pointed out by @Roshiron, you can use Recycler Charges on the cabinet blocking the doorway. This can also be done on other objects throughout Talos I. Thanks @Roshiron!

I had only leverage 2, but I found out by accident that throwing heavier furniture against the cabinet displaced it enough.
ugh i hate this area. i’ve got like no ammo, no health, and there’s A TECHNOPATH IN THE STAIRWELL.
I feel your pain. Had no idea I would be going into this area with no hope of getting out again until the quest was complete.
Elsewhere in the levels there are explosive tanks, go grab one, put it by the door, step back and pop it.
It will explode and displace the cases.

Your a hero lol. I spent close to 3 hours completely tearing that entire area up trying to find some some more plant material so I could fabricate one more neuromod to get to level 3 so I could move that damn thing. No other guide I could find even mentions the requirements needed to get out of that section…

I had that “oh shit” moment when I watched your video. I spent a good hour trying to figure out how to get up those pipes. I’m constantly amazed at the level design. They crafted an incredible world to explore, and completely blew my expectations for this game away.
100%. It reminds me of playing Bioshock for the first time and simply being in awe of the minor details.
Just put a recycling charge on the cabinet. It’s how I got past ALL of the leverage 3 areas. There’s a fabricator in Sho’s office if you’re out of them.
My problem is that I keep getting error CE-34878-0 in this area. Has made it impossible to proceed. It also corrupted ALL of my save files related to Deep Storage (thankfully I have 4 save files outside of Deep Storage, so I only wasted my progress in that area).
