Prey Side Quests Guide
Mikhaila’s Father
Once you save Mikhaila, you can speak to her back in Your Office in the Talos I Lobby. Mikhaila will tell you about the disappearance of her father, who somehow ended up on Talos I. She mentions that his records are in Deep Storage. Obviously she wants you to go fetch them for her.
Head to Deep Storage and make your way upstairs. Access the Confidential Records room (I hacked my way in), and use the computer found inside. You have a decision to make in regards to what to do with the Audio Log (destroy or send).
Destroy
If you choose to destroy the Audio Log, you get a brief conversation between Mikhaila and Igwe and the quest ends in Cold Storage.
Send
Sending the Audio Log back to your office, means you need to make your way back there to listen to it with Mikhaila. This is the far better choice to make as it unlocks an achievement (Self – Incriminating), and gets super juicy in story deets.
Either way, the choice is yours.
Mixed Signals
Once you begin to learn Typhon abilities, a new enemy called The Nightmare will begin to hunt you. This huge, hulking Typhon, shows up randomly and needs to be either killed or hid from.
After this occurs a few times, January will suggest that you set up one of the exterior satellites to draw The Nightmare off your trail. This can be done by collecting an item from the Hardware Labs.
Go to the Hardware Labs and enter the Machine Workshop area. Head into the middle and you will see the piece of satelite January was talking about. The problem is that the piece is currently covered in glass. To access the satellite piece, fix the nearby computer. This will lower the claw and give you access to the piece you need.
Once you have the piece, take it outside to the Talos I Exterior and make your way over to the satellite. Attach the satellite to enable the ability to either summon or banish The Nightmare.
Shuttle Advent
If you make your way to The Bridge, prior to Prey’s ending, you can trigger the Shuttle Advent event. Head up to the Captain’s Loft and read CPTN. Jada Marks email. You will see an email titled “Shuttle Advent”. Basically a shuttle left the station before the lockdown triggered and you will have to decide whether to blow it up or not.
Both options can be selected from the computer other in the Captain’s Loft:
Blow it up: Click the execute button and the quest ends.
Don’t blow it up: Let the timer run out.
Neither choice is tied to any achievements, so pick what you want.
Golden Gun
Loot Marietta Kyrkos’ corpse for the Transcriber to start this quest off. Jada Marks wants Marietta to stop by her cabin and grab the “Golden Gun” from the safe. Obviously, Marietta doesn’t live to accomplish this, but that means you can do it.
The rest of the quest is pretty straight forward. Grab the Key Card to Marks’ Cabin of either Marietta or Marks and then make your way to the Crew Quarters. Head inside Jada Marks’ Cabin and open the Safe. You are now Mr Scaramanga.
Maybe you should through in the hidden neuromod that is hidden by a doctor. He orders a custom weighted travel mug that unlocks a cabinet in the wall of a laboratory, you just need to get the mug and place it on a platform… I know it sounds vague, but know you recall exactly what I mean. lol
I have to get to that in my Second Playthrough. That’s why it ain’t on the list you jabroni
It’s in Dr Calvanis Lab (Hardware Lab, quite early in the game). There’s a Mug named after Calvani. Put it on a small weighting scale and a secret stash opens. (He give’s you Hints in his two emails (“I want a mug with a weight of exactly 120g” in one email and “Modify a scale so it send an on/off-signal when exactly 120g is measured”. In the looking glass video, you can see him walking to the scale. Every info (emails, video) are in his room.)
