Remnant From the Ashes: How to Get the Carapace Armor Set
In the Swamps of Corsus update for Remnant From the Ashes there are a number of new items for players to find. These new items include things like guns, mods, and even armor. One armor set comes from the Brain Bug in the Mar’Gosh’s Lair dungeon. To get this set is a bit of a pain, so use our how to get the armor set guide.
How to Get the Iskal Parasite
Before you can do anything find out if your Corsus has the Strange Pass dungeon. This dungeon leads to Mar’Gosh’s Lair which houses the Brain Bug. Once you know you have this location you will need to get infected with the Iskal Parasite. To do this find the green tinted enemy type pictured above (can be found on the overworld or in dungeons). Let this enemy grab you and don’t resist it (ie don’t mash E). After the grab is finished you will be infected by the Iskal Parasite. While infected your health drops to 50% and you regenerate health.
Speak to Brain Bug and Purchase Carapace Armor Pieces
Once you are infected avoid sitting at any checkpoints and head to Mar’Gosh’s Lair. Instead of killing the Brain Bug (which gets you the Gift of the Iskal ring) speak to the bug. Select the top options during the conversation to access the Brain Bugs armor set called the Carapace Armor Set. This set has the Harden trait which does the following:
“When getting hit, damage is reduced, encumbrance is increased and movement speed is reduced for 3.5 seconds. Stacks 5 times. When getting hit, also has a 10% chance to reduce damage taken by 30%”
To craft the Carapace Armor set, and get this trait for yourself, you need the following materials and credits:
- Helm: 1x Hardened Carapace & 500 Credits.
- Shell: 1x Hardened Carapace & 1,500 Credits.
- Greaves: 1x Hardened Carapace & 1,000 Credits.
To get Hardened Carapace you want to defeat Black Beetle that have a chance of spawning in dungeons like the Strange Pass and the Hall of Whispers. If you need more information than this check out our guide on how to get Hardened Carapace material.
That’s all you need to know to get yourself the Carapace Armor Set. Like many items in Remnant From the Ashes this set will require multiple playthroughs to fully acquire. Get out there and start farming.
