Sacred Sorrows Mode Guide – Blasphemous

In the recently released Strife & Ruin update for Blasphemous there is an boss rush mode players can complete. This boss rush mode is unlocked once a player has completed the game. Once the mode is unlocked players can take part in 5 different unlockable courses with 2 difficulty levels. To learn more about this mode use our Sacred Sorrows Mode guide below.

How to Start Sacred Sorrows Mode

To play the boss rush mode in Blasphemous you need to ensure you’ve beaten the game on a save file at least once. Once you’ve reached this requirement you will unlock the game mode. To start the Sacred Sorrows Mode navigate to the game’s start screen. On this screen you will find the Sacred Sorrows Mode option. Select it then select a save file. You will then need to choose a starting course.

Sacred Sorrows Mode Courses Bosses Lists

There are 5 total courses for players to play in the Sacred Sorrows Mode. These courses consist of a collection of bosses you need to defeat in a row. Not all of the courses are available to start. You need to complete the earlier ones to unlock more courses to play. The courses and their bosses are:

First Sorrow of the Brother Bosses

  1. Warden of the Silent Sorrow.
  2. Ten Piedad.
  3. Our Lady of the Charred Visage.
  4. Tres Angustias.
  5. Esdras, of the Anointed Legion.

Second Sorrow of His Holiness Bosses

  1. Melquíades, The Exhumed Archbishop.
  2. Expósito, Scion of Abjuration.
  3. Quirce, Returned By The Flames.
  4. Crisanta of the Wrapped Agony.
  5. His Holiness Escribar.
  6. Last Son of the Miracle.

Third Sorrow of True Torment Bosses

  1. Warden of the Silent Sorrow.
  2. Ten Piedad.
  3. Our Lady of the Charred Visage.
  4. Tres Angustias.
  5. Esdras, of the Anointed Legion.
  6. Melquíades, The Exhumed Archbishop.
  7. Expósito, Scion of Abjuration.
  8. Quirce, Returned By The Flames.
  9. Crisanta of the Wrapped Agony.
  10. His Holiness Escribar.
  11. Last Son of the Miracle.

Fourth Sorrow of the Dawn Bosses

  1. Amanecida of the Golden Blades.
  2. Amanecida of the Bejeweled Arrow.
  3. Amanecida of the Chiselled Steel.
  4. Amanecida of the Molten Thorn.
  5. Laudes, the First of the Amanecidas.

Fifth Sorrow of Ultimate Virtue Bosses

  1. Warden of the Silent Sorrow.
  2. Ten Piedad.
  3. Our Lady of the Charred Visage.
  4. Tres Angustias.
  5. Esdras, of the Anointed Legion.
  6. Melquíades, The Exhumed Archbishop.
  7. Expósito, Scion of Abjuration.
  8. Quirce, Returned By The Flames.
  9. Crisanta of the Wrapped Agony.
  10. His Holiness Escribar.
  11. Last Son of the Miracle.
  12. Amanecida of the Golden Blades.
  13. Amanecida of the Bejeweled Arrow.
  14. Amanecida of the Chiselled Steel.
  15. Amanecida of the Molten Thorn.
  16. Laudes, the First of the Amanecidas.

The fifth and final sorrow course is unlocked by completing the previous 4 Sacred Sorrow courses on True Torment difficulty. Once these four courses are completed the fifth course will become available to you. This course is the longest and most difficult to complete as it contains all the bosses in the game.

Sacred Sorrows Mode Reward

If you are wondering what the reward is for completing the above mentioned courses this section is for you. To unlock the reward you need to complete all 5 course on both the Pilgrim and True Torment difficulties. If you accomplish this you will receive the Eternal Rest skin at the end of your final run. This character skin is equipped by following the steps in our guide.

This is one of the new activities that’s been added to the game by way of the Strife & Ruin update. Other activities include a new Miriam quest and an arcade game you can play.
