Scribblenauts Showdown Announced By Warner Bros. Interactives

Warner Bros. Interactive has announced Scribblenauts Showdown, a new party game that is coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PS4 on March 6. The upcoming release of Scribblenauts Showdown marks the seventh sequel in the series since the game’s inception in 2009.

Like previous games in the Scribblenauts series, Scribblenauts Showdown allows players to solve puzzles using typing. This new Showdown iteration on the series is focused on being a party game and features versus mode, classic sandbox mode along with the new Showdown mode.

Versus mode will allow two players to face one another across a number of mini-games while using the game’s 35,000 word dictionary. Mini-games can also be tackled solo if you have no friends and play Scribblenauts alone (I know the feeling).

Sandbox mode is making a return in Scribblenauts Showdown and should be fairly familiar to fans of the series. In the Sandbox mode, players are free to explore 8 different levels which feature a number of solvable puzzles and Starite to collect.

The new Showdown mode will allow up to 4 players to compete “and imagine their way to victory”. Gameplay in Showdown takes the form of mini-games including “wordy” and “speedy” type games. Wordy mini-games will see players compete head to head in pulling words from the in-game dictionary, while speedy games are a race to see which players can complete a given puzzle the quickest.

Also included in Scribblenauts Showdown is the ability to create your own Scribblenaut. Scribblenaut customization will expand with more options as you progress through the game.
