Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Gameplay Shown during EA Play Event

EA held their State of Play today which showed off a number of new titles in the pipeline for EA in 2019. One of the most exciting titles players are looking forward to is Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. During the EA Play Event, we got a good look at Star Wars Jedi Fallen gameplay. Check it out below.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Gameplay

The gameplay shown lasted a total of 15 minutes. The footage shown was unedited and took place on the Wookie planet of Kashyyyk. This point in the game is about 3 hours in, so main characters Cal Kestis is strong, but not endgame strong.

At the start of the gameplay there is a brief showing of traversal which makes up a large portion of the gameplay. Kal has the ability to climb things, swing across gaps using vines, and wall run.

After speaking with Forest Whitaker, Cal heads out to take on a mission at an Imperial Refinery. Along the way we see some usage of force powers to allow for traversal including force pushing open a door, and dropping a large metal tube to cross a wide gap. Environments seem to be linear in design.

As the demo progressed we got a look at some of the combat. Combat appears to be a nice mix of Dark Souls and an action RPG. There is blocking, finishers, deflection of blaster shots, force powers, and a nice range of difficulty in the enemies you will face. Combat is free form, so interactions will be different during each playthroughs.

Enemy wise there is a nice mix of things to fight. We saw the staples such as Stormtroopers, but also fought some giant spiders and droids.

The gameplay footage ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. Cal entered a prison area of the refinery where a Wookie was held. Cal tries to unlock the cell but is interrupted by a large droid who appears to be a boss of sorts.

More will be shown at the Microsoft E3 conference.
