Stardew Valley: How to get to the Casino
Stardew Valley is an amazing game. If you don’t have it already, immediately stop reading, log on to Steam, grab yourself a copy and enter the rabbit hole of eat, sleep, farm, repeat. What I love about this game is the seemingly endless amount of things to do. Fishing, spelunking, romance, foraging, hat collecting, wine making, cooking and last but not least gambling. Gambling? Yup! Sometimes you just want to bet the farm and see where things end up. The process of accessing the Casino is a touch ambiguous, so I am here to guide you.
1. Move That Bus!
For some reason I thought of Extreme Home Makeover and watching that on Sundays as a kid, but that’s not relevant. The Community Center/or Joja Warehouse both allow for you to upgrade things around the world. The broken down bus just east of your farm is one of these fixer upper projects. Completing the bundle requires you to make charitable donations totaling 42500 gold. Fixing the bus will give you access to a new area, Calico Desert!
2. Getting Things Charged (and other stuff).
The next part of the Qi quest requires putting a fresh battery into the lock box in the bus tunnel. It is a bit hard to see, but along the North wall you will find the box.
After the battery is placed, a note drops telling you to bring a rainbow shell to the train station drop box. The train station is to the North on the map. Bring the shell, place it in the drop box and receive another note.
This time, Qi wants you to place 10 beets into Mayor Lewis’ fridge. Do this and receive yet another note, basically requesting that you give the sand dragon its last meal.
To do this, grab a Solar Essence and head back to the desert. Above the store is what looks like the skeleton of a dragon, approach the head with Solar Essence in hand and you’ve fed the dragon it’s last meal. This triggers the last note, basically telling you to go back to your farm and look in the old pile of wood. Do this and you will be granted the membership card! This allows you to go to the casino located in the store in Calico Desert.
3. Make Grandpa Proud Through Gambling
Grandpa will only be proud if you win… SO WIN. The Casino provides access to various vanity items as well as the Statue of Endless Fortune (1,000,000 G). There you have it. A simple guide to accessing the Casino in Stardew Valley.
Optional: Completing Qi’s Challenge
As pointed out in the comments, a few steps here were included that are not necessary. I have included them below if you want to complete the side mission Qi’s Challenge
1.Clear All 120 Levels of the Stardew Mine.
I know it is scary, dark and dangerous down there, but this is basically a requirement. Upon reaching the bottom of the shaft, you will be given a mysterious ‘Skull Key’. What does this open you ask? Well keep reading!
2. Enter the Skull Cavern.
After arriving in the desert, to the Northwest, you will find a mysterious door. If only we had a key to unlo… Wait we actually do. The Skull Key grants access to this endless dungeon. If you want to explore, go ahead, but be warned the enemies are much harder then those you encountered back home. Once you set foot in the caver, you will trigger a new set of sidequests from Mr Qi. Returning home and sleeping, should lead to a letter telling you to go deeper!
3. Go Deeper!
Sometimes you just have to go deeper before you can go higher. Basically Mr Qi wants you to get to the 25 level of the Skull Cavern. If you can accomplish this task, he has some fat stacks for you (10,000 g). The quickest and easiest way to accomplish this is simply bringing bombs. Lots and lots of bombs. Avoid ladders and look instead for holes. Holes give a greater chance of skipping floors and can easily speed progress along. Keep in mind that fatigue effects you the same in the desert as on the farm, so staying out late should be avoided. A lot of this comes down to RNG, so keep trying or build 25 stairs. Once you make it to the twenty fifth level, you will receive 10k gold in the mail.
Thanks for the catch.

Somehow you make time stop and fly all at the same time.
thaks for the guide! I was realy in a pickle because i could not figure out what to put in the skelliton.
Thanks! I am glad to know it helped!
This is incorrect. You do NOT need to do the 120 mine levels, or get the key, ect ect.
Simply put the battery in the lockbox in the tunnel at any time to begin the quest string, then do the bundles required to get to the desert.
The 2nd half of the guide is correct however.
Thanks for the correction! Fixed

I dont think so. You need the skull key in order to open the mine door in the desert.
